"surrendering"
The installation consists of bells made with non fired stoneware, wooden bricks, wooden sticks, plastic & white cloth. The bells are placed in a line, behind each other. Bells are a part of our rituals, they warn us from danger, they gather us. They also announce the end of wars… My bells are standing on a surface and are therefore silent - without bell hammer, only a supporting stick is left from their original function. After the battle, we find only silence. For me the work looks at two components of the concept of a battle: the surrendering and the liberation with the leading bell carrying the surrendering flag.
